Office Renovation Completed 2010
The task was to divide one large room into three smaller offices and a reception
area. Inorder to achieve this with maximize space the doors were all built on 45
walls so no door would interupt the flow of the office ajoining it. On the top two
feet of the walls we inserted sound proof glass and trimmed it to look recessed.
All the walls were insulated with sound proof insulation. Trimmed and painted to
match the existing interior.
Calabash Bistro, Gastown Renovation - Completed March 2010
On this project we were able to take an empty office space in Vancouver Gastown,
and within four months renovate it into a unique and modern Bistro. We were tasked
to create and work on a multitude of projects, including the buikding of three large
banquettes, two fully functioning wrap around bars with a solid fir bartop laid out in a
herringbone pattern. Behind the bars we built custom shelving from solid maple, fir, and
birch plywood. We drywalled and tiled the walls in the kitchen. Installed all the trim and
baseboard throughout the establishment. Custom louvered doors were installed using
double swing hinges for the kitchen entrance. The floors were finished with a polished
concrete throughout and commercial grade laminate for the downstairs dining area. The
ceiling in the upper dining area is made of solid fir planks, finished with linseed oil and
mounted to the Ibeams in an offset pattern to create a wave effect.
Bathroom Renovation Completed 2007
In this project we found rot under the tiles and floors. So the drywall was
replaced with cementboard and the old floor ripped up. A new jet soaker tub
was framed and installed. We replaced the bathroom fan, toilet, vanity, and
updated the lighting. We tiled the floors in a classic stepping stone pattern
using marble with limestone as well as limestone baseboard. Before laying the
floor, radiant heating was installed. The walls were tiled with ceramic wall
tiles installed in a subway pattern with a glass accent through the middle.
All the clients hardware and fixtures were updated and all plumbing issues addressed.
